Ryan Phelan is a former prosecutor for the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office in Fort Worth. During his tenure at Tarrant County, Ryan handled hundreds of criminal cases involving Class A and B misdemeanors. He has also worked as an intern for the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney's Office in San Antonio where he assisted in handling felonies. Before joining the Criminal District Attorney's office in Ft. Worth, Ryan handled civil litigation, specializing in Medical Malpractice, for a firm in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ryan's expertise in hospital law is evidenced in a co-authored book on hospital and physician law. He also co-authored a law review article on Elections Laws.
While in Law School at St Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Ryan was the Head Research Fellow for the Center for Terrorism Law, where he managed nine other interns. At the Center for Terrorism Law, Ryan helped represent veterans of all branches of the armed forces who had been wrongfully accused of crimes. Additionally, Ryan helped prepare several Presidential Pardons that were presented and ultimately, granted by President Trump.
